Greg Shaffer CPLP
Greg is the chief trainer and consultant for Source4Ignition Consulting Group. He is a member of the American Society for Training and Development and has attained the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance
(CPLP) rating from their Certification Institute.
Greg has 30 years of work experience in the petrochemical industry. He has held the following positions in the industry: both an operator and first line supervisor on an 2+ billion pound per year ethylene unit, Operations Training Coordinator for a facility of over 250 operations personnel, an ethylene unit Operations Assistant, ethylene unit Training Coordinator, and Training Supervisor for a facility of over 600 personnel. This broad range of experience in operations has given Greg exposure to development and modifications of Standard Operating Procedures, development and maintenance of Training Manuals and documentation, Management of Change Process, Behavioral Based Safety, Safe Work Practices (permitting,
LOTO, confined space, etc.), Preventive Maintenance Processes, Equipment Reliability, turnaround preparation and execution, supervisory skills, and personnel development and management, and more.
Greg has attended multiple types of facilitation training and has served for over 15 years as a facilitator in multiple capacities including Why-Tree, work redesign, change management, team agreements, diversity/cultural awareness and intervention, and work group integrations and restructuring.
Greg’s passion is to assist others in gaining knowledge and confidence to successfully meet their goals. He has trained dozens of operations personnel on plant fundamentals, trouble shooting, and unit specific operations. As a facilitative trainer, he has worked with multiple groups developing their teamwork, communications, conflict resolution skills, training abilities and presentation skills. Greg has developed training for multiple occasions to enhance people’s ability to interact well with others. Greg’s presentation and training style is lively and interactive. He consistently enjoys very positive feedback on his sessions.
Greg also assists others as a personal coach in attaining goals in leadership effectiveness, problem resolution and improving interpersonal skills.
